THE DASHAWAY ECT (two berth towable camper) From £26,225

Some things are designed simply to function. Others are designed to inspire; sitting somewhere between a campervan and a traditional caravan lies something altogether more evolved — the Dashaway ECTS.

Compact, clever and unlike anything that has come before it, the Dashaway ECT is best described as a Wheelhome campervan that you tow — bringing together the freedom of a campervan with the effortless simplicity of a trailer. And from the moment you arrive at your destination, it wastes no time making you feel at home.

Set-up takes just five minutes. Lower the rear steadies, turn a single handle, and the elevating roof rises effortlessly — gas struts doing all the heavy lifting. Two support poles lock it securely in place, and in just two minutes it’s time to put the kettle on. No pegging-out. No fuss. No hard-standing limitations. The Dashaway ECT is fully self-supporting on any surface, making it as well-suited to a French aire overnight stop as it is to a peaceful campsite.  In fact, it’s so fuss-free that it’s entirely practical to stop for lunch in a layby – like a campervan…

Inside, the space opens up to reveal something quite remarkable for its footprint — a generous double bed, a comfortable two-seat sofa, a fully equipped kitchen, and a conveniently accessible Porta Potti. Everything you need, arranged with genuine thoughtfulness. Your bedding travels on the made-up bed while on the road, neatly stowed beneath the front shelf once on site — ready to be deployed in moments when the evening calls for it.

Prefer to travel solo occasionally? The bed configures just as beautifully as a single.

Effortless by Design

Weighing from just 370kg, the ECT is engineered to be handled with ease by one person and towed by virtually any modern car — petrol, diesel, hybrid or electric. For the ultimate in solo convenience, the optional Motor Mover removes even the effort of manoeuvring by hand.

And should you wish to extend your living space, the optional rear awning is there when you want it — without altering the ECT’s compact footprint when you don’t.

This is not simply a camper trailer. It is a smarter, lighter, more liberating way to travel.

Gas-Free Kitchen: Portable Induction hob & Microwave are supplied for cooking that is as safe as it is convenient — whether you’re on a French Aire or a lakeside pitch in the Lake District. Clean, modern, and utterly simple to use. With 2+ days Off-Grid potential.  No gas bottles needed. No pilot lights. No lingering smells.

Elevating Roof — Up in Under a Minute Gas struts do the heavy lifting, raising the elevating roof with one smooth turn of a handle. Two support poles lock it securely in place. From pulling onto your pitch to putting the kettle on takes less than five minutes — on any surface, without pegs, without fuss.

Wide double Bed in ten Seconds Your comfortable two-seater sofa reclines into a wide double bed in moments. Your bedding travels on the already-made bed while you drive, neatly stowed beneath the front shelf once you arrive — ready the moment the evening calls for it.

Tows Behind Almost Any Modern Car.  Weighing from just 370kg, the Dashaway ECT sits comfortably within the un-braked towing limit of most modern cars — petrol, diesel, hybrid, or electric. No need to change your vehicle. No specialist licence. Just hitch up and go.

Porta Potti — Always Accessible Convenience matters, particularly when the campsite facilities are on the other side of the field at midnight. The Porta Potti is thoughtfully positioned to be accessible at all times — a small detail that makes a meaningful difference.

Compact outside. Surprisingly generous within.

The interior of the ECT is a study in thoughtful design. Nothing is crammed in; everything earns its place. The layout flows naturally — from the comfortable sofa at the front that converts to your sleeping berth in seconds, through to the fully appointed kitchen, and on to the always-accessible Porta Potti.

The optional rear awning extends your living space when you want it — without changing the ECTS’s remarkably compact footprint when you don’t.

  • Comfortable sofa converts to double bed in under ten seconds
  • Porta Potti accessible at all times, day and night
  • Bedding storage under front shelf — ready to deploy
  • Optional rear awning for extended outdoor living

Whether it’s the Yorkshire Dales in September, the Scottish Highlands in June, or a lazy fortnight meandering through Normandy — the ECT is ready when you are. All you need to decide is where to point the car.

POWER. STORAGE. FREEDOM.

The Dashaway ECT is as self-sufficient as it is elegant.

A substantial 200W solar panel and large lithium battery bank feed a 2,600W inverter — delivering full 230V power to any domestic appliance you care to bring. Microwave, induction hob, air fryer, kettle — if it runs on a standard 3-pin plug and draws under 2,600W, it’s at home here. In its standard form, the ECT provides sufficient power for two or more nights of comfortable off-grid living, with campsite mains hook-up available for longer stays.

Fresh water is delivered via electrically pumped supply to the bespoke sink and drainer from an external 10-litre bottle — easily upgraded for extended adventures.

Storage has been considered at every turn. A large mid-ships under-floor locker — accessed from inside — houses the batteries, inverter and a 12-litre compressor fridge. What remains is genuinely generous space for clothes, food and everything in between. For those who want more, the optional belly locker adds an impressive 170 litres of external storage, accessed via two pull-out drawers from outside.

The Options

Two awning options allow you to extend your world at a moment’s notice. The bespoke Dashaway ECT Rear Awning deploys on the Wheelhome Hoop System to create an intimate 1.4m x 1.4m outdoor space — perfect for sitting out or housing the Porta Potti overnight. For those who like to spread out, the Vango Arden Tailgate Awning offers a larger, sleepable space, also supported by the Wheelhome Hoop System, with the awning travelling neatly in the car.

For the ultimate in positioning convenience, the optional Motor Mover with fully automated engagement and remote control removes even the last trace of effort from arriving and setting up.

Because the finest journeys deserve the finest details.
