Citroen Berlingo van with a 1.4 litre petrol engine. (75 BHP). (A 1.9 ltr. 71 B.H.P. diesel engine is an option)
The Century can be built on the Peugeot Partner at no extra cost. Height adjustable steering wheel; Side door impact bars; Drivers air bag; Engine immobiliser; Internally adjustable door mirrors; As a guide, 40 + m.p.g. can be achieved.
Colour matched elevating roof with gas strut assistance, there is a storage compartment and an 'infil' cushion WITHIN the elevating roof, also two large zipped vents are incorporated. Two opening side windows plus the two cab windows. The near-side passenger seat faces forwards for driving and rearwards for camping. A stainless steel two burner hob, grill, sink and drainer. A 10 litre water container in a dedicated cupboard. Porta Potti space. General kitchen cupboards. Two single beds, 6'l" long (max) by 2'O" wide.
Furniture constructed from 13 mm plywood with a smart, tough, mottled grey finish.
All four seats have three point inertia reel seat belts, a fifth, centre seat is an extra. Rear passenger access is by tipping the front passenger seat forwards.
The hob unit and rear seats can quickly be removed for load carrying when required. The rear seats are constructed of steel (covered in carpet)
The Wheelhome 'Century' at only 6'l" high and with up to five forward facing seats and belts, this is one Motorcaravan that really can be used as an every-day car, and yet is just as capable of providing comfortable living accommodation for two people.
Please note the following important points
1. The seat boxes and units are easily removed for carrying large loads.
2. The seat boxes are for general storage, they do not contain water tank, battery or bed cushions.
3. There is additional storage in a drop down compartment within the E/roof.
4. The sink/drainer cover can be placed onto the forward end of the hob unit to provide extra work-surface.
At only 6'1" high this is a camper you can park in a normal domestic garage.
Here are some additional images and information concerning the "Daneste" which was a conversion we used to carry out on the Suzuki Super Carry / Bedford Rascal from 1987 to 1993.
The conversion gave: One single bed or one double bed, four forward facing seats for travelling with belts and a two seater lounge when on site - for the size of van (10'9" long x 4'61/2" high) this was a very successful layout for two people on holiday, even with the beds in place there was enough floor space remaining to use a Porta Potti!
Most Daneste's had an elevating roof (vertical lift), fridge, two burner hob and grill, cupboards etc.
The 1000 cc petrol engine would return approximately 30-35+ M.P.G. A happy cruising speed was 50-60 mph, top speed was approx 80+ mph. 5 speed gearbox. There was no diesel option.
There were a few minor changes to the "Daneste" design however they all had very flat and comfortable beds.
Nissan Serena GX, 1.6 ltr petrol engine. Power steering. Front door side impact beams.
Engine immobiliser. Wheel trims. Tailgate with heated rear window. Fold flat door mirrors, without losing setting. Stereo radio cassette. Colour matched elevating roof with gas strut assistance, there is a storage compartment within the roof and a useful shelf over the cab when the roof is raised. (NOTE. Some earlier Daneste II s had a vertical lift E/R) Two rear, forward facing seats contoured for comfort with three point inertia seat belts. The seat boxes are made of steel for strength, and are fully carpeted they can easily be removed for load carrying. Stainless steel two burner hob, grill, sink and drainer.
Under floor six gallon (27 ltr) fresh water tank with water being electrically pumped to the sink via a single tap. Table. Two double fluorescent lights. Lined grey curtains. Fire Extinguisher. Fridge, 12 volt compressor type 40 litres, or a two way gas and 12 volt absorption type. Auxiliary battery 90/110 amp. Two single beds, 6'2" long x 2'0" wide. NOTE all facilities remain accessible when the beds are in use. These beds are flat and very comfortable thanks to Wheelhome's over cushions, that are contoured on the underside to match the shape of the fully reclined cab seats, this leaves the upper surface flat - as a good bed ought to be.
The price new was in the region of £22,000.
The 'Daneste II' was based on the Nissan Serena M.P.V. It had a choice of a either a 1.6 ltr. or 2.0 ltr petrol Engine or a 2.3 ltr diesel. The 'Daneste II' has excellent driving characteristics, visibility, and refinement plus all the advantages that a compact Wheelhome Motorcaravan can offer, practical and comfortable living accommodation for two people whilst holidaying, and up to five forward facing seats with belts (four lap and diagonal, one lap) for taking friends and relatives out for the day - complete with refreshment facilities!
Two types of E/R were produced, both offered full standing headroom with the E/R raised, but lowered, overall height was only 6'2".
Suzuki Carry van with a 1300 cc, 77 BHP, E.F.I. petrol engine. Power steering. Side impact protection beams. Ventilated front disc brakes (drum rear) Tinted windows. Central door locking. Drivers air-bag. Radio cassette. Front and rear mudflaps. Easy to lift elevating roof with gas strut assistance colour matched to the vehicle bodywork incorporating large vents & a storage compartment. Auxiliary battery (100 amp.) Stainless steel two burner hob, grill, sink and drainer. Fully trimmed and carpeted interior. Table and leg.
Worktop extension which can be used inside on the forward end of the kitchen unit, or outside where it attaches to the rear end of the kitchen unit. A 23 litre (5 gallon) water tank located under the vehicle, which has an electric pump to deliver fresh water to the sink. Four wheel trims. Folding bucket (two gallon). Gas compartment, vented for one 907 camping Gaz bottle, plus a second vented compartment for a reserve 901 bottle. Two double fluorescent lights. Fire extinguisher with gauge. Porta Potti 335 cupboard. Fitted lined curtains with press studs to hold them neatly against the walls. Piano hinges are used for all cupboard doors. 35 - 40+ mpg.
The 'Daneste III' conversion by Wheelhome is a truly amazing design, it is the only micro camper on the market that offers a really spacious lounge when on site, four forward facing seats for travelling all with three point inertia reel seat belts, (meeting "Single Vehicle Approval"), genuinely comfortable seats/beds and the Porta Potti can still be used (between the kitchen units) even when the beds are down! - Not bad in a micro Motorcaravan we think!
The secret to this achievement lies, in part, to the fact that when the rear seats are not required, when on site for example, they fold up against the walls, and hence give a large clear floor area in which to move about, they are only brought 'into play' for entertaining guests or when passengers are to be carried.
The Daneste III has won the 'Motorcaravan of the Year' - twice!
The versatile 'Daneste III' (the third generation of a similar design, and named after the members of the Wheeler family) is the perfect solution for people who want a safe, compact yet comfortable, two berth camper that is very economical to buy and run and, when called upon, can also be used and treated as a 4 seater car - including parking in a garage.
The hob unit would normally be used inside of course, however, it has been designed so that it can be quickly removed and used out-side - weather permitting! The rest of the seats/furniture can also be removed for load carrying.
This vehicle has passed the "Single Vehicle Approval Scheme" more information
Easily garaged at only 6'11/2" high
The Daneste III offers a spacious and comfortable lounge area - surely the best in it's class?
Two single beds 6'2" x 23"(1880 x 585 mm), or the cushions can be pulled together to make a double 6'2" x 46" (1880 x 1170 mm). And the Porta Potti can still be used (between the kitchen units) even when the beds are down! Not bad in a micro Motorcaravan we think!
Daneste Plus Four
Here are some additional images and information concerning the "Daneste Plus Four" which was a conversion we used to carry out on the Nissan Vanette from 1987 to 1995.
The conversion gave: Two single beds or double bed, four forward facing seats for travelling with belts and a four seater lounge when on site - for the size of van (13'1" long x 6'4" high) this was a very spacious and successful layout, even with the beds in place there was enough floor space remaining to use a Porta Potti!
Most "Plus fours" had an elevating roof (vertical lift), fridge, two burner hob and grill, cupboards etc.
The diesel engine (2.0 ltr) would return approximately 35 - 40 M.P.G. and the petrol (1.5 ltr) approximately 30 M.P.G.
Here are some additional images and information concerning the "Mattineste" which was a conversion we used to carry out on the Ford Courier.
The conversion gave: One single bed, (some had a double bed extension) four forward facing seats for travelling with belts (single berth only). Cold water supply, Two burner hob/Grill, optional extras included mains electric hook-up, auxiliary battery etc.
These images are for guidance only, there were a few minor changes to the "Mattineste" design however they all had a very flat and comfortable bed.
Millennium on Galaxy
Ford Galaxy 'Zetec' 2.3 ltr. 145 b.h.p. E.F.I. petrol engine (other engines available: 1.9 ltr. Turbo diesel 130 b.h.p. and 2.8 ltr. V6 204 b.h.p) Anti-lock brakes. Air conditioning; Alloy wheels. We fit a very special easy to use marine compressor fridge 1.4 cu.ft (40 ltrs). 12v only, tilt tolerant to 300! ordinary fridges have to be virtually level in order to function properly, this is not always possible especially when parked while you are out walking etc. thermostatically controlled; simply switch on at the beginning of the holiday and switch off at the end. The fridge will run for approximately two days and nights from the auxiliary battery which is charged automatically when motoring or on the standard mains hook-up. Four seats when travelling all forward facing with three-point inertia reel restraints with Web locks. Rear upholstery in similar style to cab seats for that 'original' car look. Rotating front seats. Two single beds 6'l" x 2'O" or one double bed 6'l" x 4'O".

The following is an extract from a road test (January 2000) on the Galaxy Millennium carried out by Peter Vaughan for Which Motorcaravan. (Reprints of complete test available from Warners, Tel; 01778 391182)
"Autobahn excellence. We are cruising along an empty section of motorway. The Porsche ahead is the only other vehicle in sight and he's travelling at a similar speed. Inside the Ford Galaxy the climate control is maintaining a constant 210 and my favourite CDs are playing with fabulous clarity through no less than eight speakers. I glance down at the speedo to see the needle touch 120, that's mph not kph. In no country but Germany would this be legal. In no motorcaravan but the Wheelhome would this be possible."
The "MILLENNIUM" conversion is based on the Ford Galaxy. We have chosen this vehicle for it's superlative levels of comfort, refinement, equipment and performance.
There can be no doubt the MILLENNIUM' is no ordinary Motorcaravan. At first glance you will be forgiven for thinking you are looking at the standard vehicle for with our specially made elevating roof, colour matched to the bodywork and absolutely no external vents or hatches, the MILLENNIUM' just looks like the standard vehicle and nothing like the usual Motorcaravan, and that, of course, is the whole point; it really does offer true quality car looks and characteristics, at only 6'31/2" high the 'MILLENNIUM' is easily garageable, or if you require an even lower overall height choose our low-profile roof which is under 6' high. But when the roof is raised you have an extremely comfortable and practical two berth Motorcaravan, and the looks and admiration of other campers in their conventional motorcaravans!
The Galaxy excels as a towing vehicle - powerful, heavy (nearly two tons) and a short rear over-hang equals exceptional stability.!
The Millennium has achieved Single Vehicle Approval

The mischievous little Skamper comes as standard with two single beds. If only one person is to sleep in it the second bed mattress can be left at home, creating yet more storage space. When compared to other competitors in the micro camper class we believe the Skamper II has far more storage capacity, higher levels of equipment, far more comfortable seats and the best beds!
The Skamper II is a four seater car when not being used for camping, all with three point seat belts and head restraints. Whilst away camping the Skamper II is a strict two seater for travelling (the two cab seats only) as the rear seat travels in the "tipped up" position. Upon arrival at the campsite the cab seats slide forward and the rear seat lowers into the space vacated by them (an easy 30 second job). This seat is rather special as it is contoured and shaped like a cab seat - it even has an adjustable recline, and thus provides what we feel is the most comfortable camping seat in it's class (or pretty much any class!). A huge locker beneath the seat awaits your "stuff". A third "seat/perch" can also be created above the Porta Potti locker, see photos.
A very special, Sky Sleeper elevating roof which is raised at the touch of a switch electrically, with two insulated slide out bed trays with bed mattresses permanently in place, this gives a tremendous amount of space that really does have to be seen to be appreciated! Large vents and windows are incorporated in the fabric of the Sky Sleeper roof. The roof can be lowered whilst wet.
The stainless steel sink and drainer is fitted into a section of the kitchen unit that swings round 90 degrees to give unrivalled access to the Porta Potti which is left in place for use. At night time the sink is left in this position (tucked up behind the driver's seat). The remaining kitchen unit provides a sturdy platform (two steps) to access the roof beds, no wobbly ladder or gymnastics required! Fresh water storage is a 10 litre ( 2.2 gallon) Jerry can, easy to carry and conveniently accessed through the off-side side sliding door.
Skamper II is based on the Fiat Fiorino Combi (M1) with 1.3 ltr Multijet turbo diesel engine producing 75 BHP (optional 95 BHP). Emissions; Euro 5, only 113 g/km which is currently £30 a year (first year zero!), 50 M.P.G. is achievable, helped by the very latest "Stop Start" technology for in town and Cruise Control for the motorway.
said; "No (two berth) camper is cheaper to run than this!"
Anti-lock brakes (ABS) with EBD. Power steering with adjustable steering column. Electrically operated door mirrors. Remote control central door locking and electric windows. Heated rear windows with wash wipe. Rear parking sensors. Radio with CD player. Driver's seat height adjustment. Front/rear fog lights.
The water is electrically pumped to the sink. A folding 2 gallon bucket is provided for the waste water. Mains hook up and one outlet, RCD safety device, 12 amp battery charger that charges the 100 amp Elecsol auxiliary battery, also charged from the engine whilst motoring, automatically. Seven litre Waeco Thermoelectric cooler which runs from the auxiliary battery, located on the floor behind the driver's seat. (Fourteen litre extra cost option).
Two burner hob with flame failure device. A large under floor storage compartment, accessed from inside, about the size of a decent suitcase, ideal for shoes, boots, and general "clobber".
Gas compartment for one camping Gaz 907 and one 901 vented to the outside. The sink/drainer cover doubles up as the table on a island leg. Additional worktop/shelf that can be placed on the front end of the kitchen unit (resting on the back of the driver's seat) this gives a really useful work surface. Fire extinguisher with gauge. Two double fluorescent lights.
Fitted and lined curtains. High quality lift- out floor mats (set).
The multi-award winning Skamper is the smallest camper around with two slide-out roof sections! The name "Skamper" (Sky-Camper) reflects the significance of our super new elevating roof design which gives a totally unique approach to the creation of space in a compact camper giving a maximum internal width of over seven feet!
It is not the cheapest way of making an elevating roof (the development cost being in excess of £100,000!) but, we feel for what it offers, it is the very best. The specialist magazines and caravan industry seem to agree;
"Another one of their breathtakingly-close-to-perfect micro-motorhomes"
"that roof is oh-so-clever and there is more storage than you'd believe possible"
We feel the Skamper holds it's own when compared to campers from the next class size up, indeed, sales have already been made to folk who thought they were going to buy a VW!

We believe the Sprintaway is the best and most thoughtfully designed caravan ever built - it's design is truly revolutionary. The Sprintaway has the lowest centre of gravity helping towards being the safest and best towing caravan on the market. We believe it has considerably more storage and food preparation surfaces than any other caravan in it's class, and has (by far) the most comfortable seats and beds. The Sprintaway's compact dimensions means it can be stored in most domestic garages, go under most height barriers and be economical to tow (free on the French Autoroutes!) furthermore, the Sprintaway is no wider than a small car so you won't need to mess about with extra mirrors!
We invite you to make an appointment to view the unique, British made, hand built Sprintaway in person to see for yourself just how special this little caravan really is!

Caravan Club awards 2006 - to date
In 2006 the new Sprintaway caused somewhat of a stir in the caravan industry when it won it's class, "Folding Caravans and Pop Tops', in the Caravan Club's prestigious 'Lightweight Leisure Trailer Award'. It appears that it enjoyed a comfortable win. Unfortunately, The Caravan Club has had to cancel this class for 2007 as none of our competitors seem prepared to offer their models for evaluation! You will no doubt draw your own conclusions from this, as we have...
The Sprintaway won outright "Best Build Quality 2007" (with maximum marks possible) and jointly won the "Best Value for Money" class.
"It is rare nowadays that we can say we have something new in the way of a caravan, but Wheelhome's Sprintaway is a wonderfully thought-out and engineered micro caravan that is certainly something very new indeed. ……. Ingenious piece of design……...Wheelhome's concept is to make life as easy as possible….. A brilliant piece of caravan design and engineering" To achieve this fresh approach Wheelhome threw the conventional 'rule' book an awful long way away, please read on…….

Vikenze I (gas)
This page is all about the original Vikenze, production of which stopped in 2013. For details of the replacement, Vikenze II, click on the Vikenze II tab or here; http://www.wheelhome.info/vikenze
However, we sometimes get used original Vikenze models back so if you want one please contact us.
Thewas designed primarily for one person to go camping with as much comfort, convenience and ease of use as possible in a compact vehicle that can also do double duty as an economical little car “when back home”. The Vikenze is a two, or optional, three seater car. When travelling the rear seat is “tipped up”. Upon arrival at the campsite the cab seats slide forward and the rear seat swings down into the space vacated by them (an easy 30 second job). This seat is rather special as it is contoured and shaped like a cab seat - it even has an adjustable recline, and thus provides what we feel is the most comfortable “camper seat” in it’s class, or pretty much any class!
Vikenze is based on the Fiat Fiorino Combi with a 1.3 ltr Multijet turbo diesel engine producing 75 BHP & 190 NM torque. Euro 5. 50 M.P.G.+ is very achievable. The Vikenze will comfortably cruise at 60-70 mph, if you wish. Anti-lock brakes (ABS) with EBD. Power steering with adjustable steering column. Electrically operated windows and door mirrors. Remote control central door locking. Twin side opening rear doors with heated rear windows and wash wipe. Radio with CD player. Driver’s seat height adjustment. Flat tyre aerosol inflation can. Driver’s and passenger airbags.
A stainless steel sink and drainer is fitted into a section of the kitchen unit that swings round 90 degrees to give unrivalled access to the Porta Potti which is left in place for use. At night time the sink is left in this position (tucked up behind the driver’s seat). The remaining kitchen unit now provides a sturdy platform (two steps) to access the optional roof bed (two berth) no wobbly ladder or gymnastics required! Fresh water storage is a 10 litre ( 2.2 gallon) Jerry can, easy to carry and conveniently accessed through side door.
which is raised effortlessly at the touch of a switch, incorporates large vents in the fabric of the roof.
The Vikenze has an additional worktop/shelf that can be placed on the front end of the kitchen unit (resting on the back of the driver’s seat) this gives a really useful work surface. Two fluorescent interior lights. Fitted and lined grey curtains. High quality rear floor mat.
No longer in production. One berth Vikenze; provides one very generous single bed at lower level (6’5” x 2’ 2”), a wide single width seat in the rear, and a very large shelf area over the cab, ideal for storing pillows/bedding. Two seats in the cab for travelling. Two berth Vikenze; has a second, drop down bed in the roof space 6’0”+ x 2’6”. Some solo customers are choosing to use the roof bed instead of the lower bed due to it’s “two second ready” availability (it can even have a sleeping bag left on it whilst travelling). A roof storage pod, ideal for lightweight item such as clothing. We call it a “Lay-flat”The rear seat is double width (so two seater for camping).
And of course at only 6’2” high it will fit in most garages and easily go under the two metre height barriers!
External overall length 3864 mm.
External width (body only) 1716 mm
External height, roof lowered 1895 mm
Internal height with roof raised in the galley is 2130 mm
Here are some additional images and information concerning the "Vikeste II" which was a conversion we used to carry out on the Ford Transit High top.

The 'Vikestian' is the perfect solution for people who want a safe, compact three seater car that is very economical to buy and run, and yet can provide comfortable accommodation for one person whilst holidaying. Quote from WHICH MOTORCARAVAN magazine; "On the road the Wagon R is a world away from the likes of Daihatsu's Hijet; this is a pleasant little car with handling to match."
With the elevating roof lowered the Vikestian is only 5'8" high, therefore height barriers and garages are absolutely no problem. A decent sized single bed, is standard.
This vehicle has passed the "Single Vehicle Approval Scheme" more information.
This vehicle was featured on Carlton T.V.'s "PULLING POWER" During February 2000.
The 'Vikestian' won "The Motorcaravan of the year award" 1999/2000!
